Color Palette for Downtown Newport Unveiled
Sample "Before and Afters" and full range of color palettes presented
At our June Members' Meeting, designer Marti Kellogg, ASID unveiled the recommended color palette for downtown Newport, designed to better unify our downtown core to make our area more attractive to visitors, tourists and locals alike. This was part of the grant for downtown beautification that the Chamber had applied for from the POC EDC.
Marti has been in the industry for over 30 years and her first introduction to Newport was transforming Club Energy from it's previous white, purple and bright blue colors to its current timeless, classical look.
Using primarily colors from Benjamin Moore's Historical Collection, she presented almost 20 colors that were neutral enough to work with all the existing colors in our downtown, yet complimentary enough to work with each other and create a more cohesive and attractive downtown. The recommended color palette is shown.
To view some of the "Before and After" photographs of some sample buildings and touch and feel large paint samples of the colors shown, please contact us at info@newportareachamber.com or stop by our Visitors' Center. Or attend a Thursday 8am meeting at TJ Kelly park being organized by Kandi Gentis of Bling & Sparkles (June 20th for Newport businesses located between 2nd & 3rd Streets and June 27th for businesses located between 3rd & 4th Streets).
Who will be the first to follow Club Energy's lead towards a more attractive and unified downtown core?
