Community Colleges of Spokane is a dynamic community college district serving some 38,600 students a year, spread across a 12,300-square-mile service district in Eastern Washington. Washington State University Pend Oreille County Extension connects the people of Pend Oreille County to the research and knowledge bases of the state's land grand research university providing solutions to local problems and stimulating local economies. Our county-based educators work with partners in your communities to provide educational programs and leverage the broad resources of a major university to resolve issues and create a positive future for the residents of Pend Oreille County. Our local programs include natural resources, community development, tourism development, Master Gardener training, 4-H positive youth development, small acreage land stewardship, garden-enhanced nutrition education, Sense of Place, Children Cope With Divorce, and River Trail development. In addition, Washington State University provides over 2,200 publications, numerous online educational opportunities, and other statewide educational programs and technical assistance from four Research and Extension Centers, 15 Academic Departments and six of WSU's Academic Colleges.
