Our Chamber Chamber News Revitalize Newport

Revitalize Newport

The Chamber is pleased to be working with the Beautification Committee, the Newport School District, the City of Newport, the Kalispel Career Training Center, the Pend Oreille Economic Development Council, PORTA and various local volunteers on a plan to revitalize downtown Newport.

We are in early stages, but are hoping to adopt a global vision for signage, downtown accessory items (ie garbage cans, flowers, benches, etc.) and a neutral base palette that storefronts can opt into - all aimed at "sprucing" up our downtown and making it more attractive to tourists and locals alike.

The more traffic we can attract and retain in our downtown district, the better off our local businesses will be.

If you are interested in participating, volunteering or donating goods, services or related discounts, please contact us. Together we can make the Greater Newport area shine!

In addition, don't forget Spring Clean Up day on Saturday May 5th. Meet at Owen's Grocery / Seeber's Pharmacy starting at 8am to help spruce up our downtown.    We hope to see you there!
